The Choir of Saint Thomas Church in New York is very accomplished and possesses an enviable tenor line. This programme of Fauré’s popular sacred works provides the opportunity to showcase the young trebles and their soloists, who sing with great assurance and poise, though I’d have preferred the In Paradisum of John Rutter’s chamber version of the Requiem to be more ethereal and less earthbound. Well worth considering if you want to add to your collection.
