The Third Symphony for organ and orchestra has Saint-Saëns hovering in the background and certainly parallels the latter’s Third, with grand climaxes, gorgeous melodies and lush orchestral textures. The towering and technically difficult Seventh Organ Symphony is given a brilliantly electrifying performance on the marvellous Rouen organ, with the 5-second acoustics captured magically.
