A reliable performance of the Requiem (both choirs feature) is a little marred by the recorded choral sound seeming distant in places, the organ always having prominence. The vocal group Concert Clemens performs the Quatre motets with an easiness of phrase and a concise articulation, and is afforded a lusher recorded acoustic, to good effect. The demanding organ works are given due respect by Kristian Krogsøe’s musical playing, and the large Kastens/Demant/Frobenius organ in Aarhus Cathedral suits them. Informative sleeve notes would benefit from better English translations. Overall, this is a nicely packaged intég- rale worth acquiring alongside other interpretations.
