A good instrument, dating from 1741, on which to play Bach and the French composers who influenced him, de Grigny and Boyvin. The Bach works recorded are Prelude & Fugue in E flat BWV 552; Pièce d’orgue BWV 572, here played according to the later version with pedals throughout (and the tutti for the final section); Fantasia in C minor BWV 562, played as a fond d’orgue (whereas a more de Grigny-esque registration would have been a good experiment to make); and the six ‘Schüblers’. De Grigny’s Pange lingua and Boyvin’s Fifth Suite are (mostly) stylishly played.
