Despite the scale of the Salzburg Mozarteum, this recording on the new classical-style 3-manual Hermann Eule organ is intimate. Standard Bach works, such as the Air from the Orchestral Suite no.3 and the A minor Concerto, are programmed alongside Mendelssohn movements, two substantial pieces by Enrico Bossi, and movements from the Reger Sonata no.2 and the Guilmant Scherzo. The playing is energetic and articulate throughout. It does pose a question as to whether this instrument lends itself well to the later repertoire; it would also have been good to enjoy more complete works rather than a selection of movements.
