Having committed a fine Winter Words to disc, Gilchrist and Tilbrook turn their attention to earlier Britten with equal success. Gilchrist brings a youthful ardour to the Auden and Michelangelo cycles, and the pair find a suitably dark tone for the underrated Donne sonnets. Excellent sound and notes.
