These delightful arrangements of Boccherini’s op 26 string quartets for piano quartet are given extra pungency by the choice of period instruments or copies. The harpsichord-like fortepiano of Arthur Schoonderwoerd gives special pleasure when played with such elegance (and recorded so well).
