A winning recital alternating charming miniatures with beautiful nocturnes, such as Ernesto Cordero’s Meditation and Mariano Morales’ touching Reina de la Noche. Central to the programme is a significant work, the second sonatina by Hector Campos-Paris: it shows a distinctive compositional voice and ought to be better known. The warm, natural recording captures some lovely playing, and one is left wanting more than the disc’s 39min playing time.
