A dazzling collection of pieces that gives Hillier and his team a chance to show off virtually every vocal effect in the book. Berio’s kaleidoscopic A-ronne is marvellously vivid and assured, while Sheldon Frank’s As I Was Saying weaves syntactic cliché into a Pythonesque tour-de-force. meanwhile John Cage is found at his jazziest and Berberian’s Stripsody truly has to be heard to be believed.
