Ysaÿe’s quintet in B minor stands comparison with the Debussy and Fauré quartets in the impassioned performance on this recording. Its neglect may be because this and other works on the album were never published, but extracted from Brussels archives by the composer’s jazz musician grandson Jacques, alias Jack Say. Great finds they all are.
