The songs of Delius, Finzi and Vaughan Williams do indeed lend themselves to jazz arrangement, more so than the two over-long themes from pianist Peter Churchill. The mood set by Churchill, Tony Woods on flute/saxes and percussionist Rob Millett is uniformly mellow, though Linden Lea gets a vigorous workout and Dead in the Cold ripples with drama. Great for dipping into.
