Petrassi’s early Partita for orchestra, an arresting 1932 spectacular; Noche oscura and Coro di morti are later works, inhabiting a more acerbic soundworld yet demonstrating the composer’s technical mastery and flair for drama. Performances and recording are of the highest standard.
