Frikki Walker’s enthusiasm for the lighter side of the organ repertoire is clear in this comprehensive compilation of everything from Eine kleine Nachtmusik to Penguin’s Playtime. Without a natural sense of wit and charm, this music can feel awkward removed from live performance, but here there is much to enjoy. Anyone looking for new recital ‘lollipops’ will find a few novelties such as Max Steiner’s film theme from A Summer Place or David Llewellyn Green’s Vivo, as well as A Scottish Fantasy specially commissioned from Piers Kennedy.
