Philipp Dulichius languished long in the shadow of Schütz, Scheidt and Schein, but now the limelight lavished on him by the excellent singers and players of Weser Renaissance in their recording of 18 Sacred Motets illuminates another highly talented and original German early baroque master. The music is refined and the recording, captured with great depth and space, is satisfyingly immediate and engaging.
