A thoughtfully planned recital, celebrating Achubert’s women, built around the exquisite Ellens Gesange, but finding time for favourites such as Die junge Nonne, Du bist die Ruh and so on. Tynan’s bright, bell-like sound and flexible control is amply matched by Burnside’s imaginative mastery at the keyboard, and what is billed as a first volume in a series benefits from fine recorded sound.
