More Santa Cecilia, more Pappano – and proof of how dynamic and consistently illuminating this team can be. Here they provide a dazzling backdrop for Warner’s latest signing, and are matched by playing of tremendous power and insight. Prokofiev’s second (that cadenza!) receives a devastating performance, while Tchaikovsky’s B flat minor sounds as fresh as it is compelling. Comparisons with Argerich are already being made, but Rana is a very special artist in her own right.
