Finally, no one interested in Christmas carols should miss Alexandra Coghlan’s delightful and entertaining book Carols from King’s: The Stories of our Favourite Carols from King’s College, which explores the history behind our most-loved carols. Although the music examples are spoilt by poor layout and a few typos, this volume is packed full of interesting material and will be a pleasurable companion during, say, Boxing Day afternoon – if you’re able to escape.
