In an intelligently-planned programme cherry-picking from Italian baroque oratorios, Rial’s bright, seductive soprano blends superbly with Sabadus’ rich, flexible countertenor. There is no weak piece in the sequence (there’s even a Torelli concerto grosso to nudge the disc just over the requisite hour’s playing time), and both singers and the stylish Swiss ensemble perform with panache and evident relish. Warmly recommended.
