Following a highly successful series of Handel’s Italian cantatas, this disc of economically scaled duets is a delight from start to finish. It says much that mezzo de Liso is not outshone by her better-known soprano compatriot; their blend, and that with the tiny ensemble, is marvellous, matched by exquisite sound. Here’s to volume two!
