This CD is an audio record of a community event given at Peterborough in February 2017. Artist Bettina Furné and writer Lucy Sherman explored responses from interviews with Peterborough couples about an extended trip to the moon, which was then refashioned by composer Cheryl Frances-Hoad into a sequence that reflects the Anglican service of Evensong.

In its Peterborough presentation, Even You Song (get it?) included digital projections, many of which are included in the CD booklet. However, the recording cannot reflect the full impact of what was evidently an ambitious multi-disciplinary work. The assembled choirs all acquit themselves with honour under the leadership of Steven Grahl. Frances-Hoad’s settings of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis – their texts are unaltered – are striking enough to earn them an independent life in traditional Evensong.
