There are no disputed flavours in Jan Dismas Zelenka: Missa Omnium Sanctorum ,and Ruben Jais directs laBarocca with a light hand on the seasoning. Glorious soloists, all impressively graceful and proficient, include the fruity counter- tenor of Filippo Mineccia. It’s deliciously nimble, bright, and ‘dance-y’, with detailed responsiveness from the choir, and every nuance of Zelenka’s counterpoint expressed with vim. Founded in 2008 from the Fondazione Orchestra Sinfonico e Coro Sinfonica di Milano Giuseppe Verdi, laBarocca is rapidly becoming one of Italy’s premiere baroque ensembles. The fine acoustics of the Auditorium di Milano add just enough bloom.
