In 1798 this was probably the largest organ in Italy, and the only one to have a 32fton the manuals. Restored in 2013, it is a fine instrument to celebrate the anniversary of C.P.E. Bach. Some of the six sonatas recorded here were written for Princess Anna Amalia of Prussia and her 22-stop organ by J.P. Migend (now restored). Davide Pozzi varies the colours of the large Italian organ with good sense and taste, and the recording is clear and resonant. His playing is efficient, brisk, well articulated, although lacking a certain poetic afflatus.
