De la Salle has been well represented by Naïve, with successful discs of Liszt, Bach and Chopin in recent years. It is a shame then that, on the strength of this disc, her Schumann lacks the freshness of earlier releases. This impression is not helped by a less-than-perfect instrument and an ungenerous recorded sound.
